In this second episode of our special series with Tracy Harper, we dive into Part Two of her book, From Him, Not Them: Identifying Counterfeit Guides.
Tracy shares powerful insight on how easily our hearts and minds can be influenced by voices that aren’t rooted in truth. When our feelings become the engine of our decisions, they can pull us away from the identity and direction God intends for us. In this conversation, we talk about how to slow down, examine the voices guiding us, and learn to recognize what truth we are actually listening to.
One of Tracy’s most memorable lines from the interview was this:
“Only something of value has a counterfeit. There’s no counterfeit paper bag, but there is a counterfeit designer bag.”
The same is true for our identity and our faith. Because our worth and purpose are so valuable, there will always be counterfeit messages competing for our attention. Tracy helps us learn how to spot those counterfeits and anchor ourselves in what God says is true.
If you’re a mom, mentor, or woman wanting to grow deeper in understanding where your identity comes from—and how to help the next generation do the same—this episode will be both practical and encouraging.
To continue learning from Tracy, visit her website and sign up for her weekly newsletter released every Tuesday, where she shares additional encouragement and resources.
And if this conversation is encouraging you, make sure to subscribe to the In Jesus’ Name Podcast wherever you listen so you don’t miss the rest of this series and future episodes.

Why We Need to Feel Seen | Finding Identity in Christ (From Him, Not Them Series)
Wednesday Mar 04, 2026
Wednesday Mar 04, 2026
In the first episode of our special series with Tracy Harper, we begin unpacking Part One of her book From Him, Not Them with a powerful theme: knowing that you are seen.
Many young women—and honestly, many of us at any age—carry a deep desire to be noticed, valued, and understood. Tracy shares an important truth: wanting to be seen doesn’t make you narcissistic—it makes you human. God designed us with a longing to be known and recognized.
In this conversation, Tracy walks through the biology and emotional wiring behind our desire to be seen, explaining why that need exists and how it can either lead us toward healthy connection or toward unhealthy places if we seek it from the wrong sources.
Most importantly, we talk about how to redirect that desire toward the right outlets—toward God, healthy relationships, and a grounded identity that comes from Him, not from them.
This episode is especially meaningful for young women, moms of teenage daughters, mentors, and women who wish they had heard these truths earlier in life.
If you’ve ever wondered why being seen matters so much—or how to help a young woman you love build her identity in Christ—this conversation will encourage, equip, and open the door to deeper understanding.
🎧 Tune in to the first episode of this series and discover why From Him, Not Them is becoming such a powerful resource for women and young women alike.

Genuine Faith: Submitting to God and Walking Humbly (James 4)
Wednesday Feb 25, 2026
Wednesday Feb 25, 2026
Have you ever heard a sermon and felt like God was speaking directly to you?
In this episode, I share why Micah Stevens’ sermon “Genuine Faith: Our Road Map” from Island Alliance Church spoke so clearly into my current season. Rooted in James 4, this message is a timely reminder of what it looks like to live out genuine faith — submitting fully to God, walking humbly, and letting go of a judgmental spirit toward others.
Following The Journey series, this episode feels like a natural next step — a call to examine our hearts, surrender pride, and align our lives with God’s will rather than our own opinions or comparisons.
This conversation challenges us to ask:
• Am I truly submitted to God?
• Am I walking in humility or in judgment?
• Does my faith show up in the way I treat others?
If you’ve been seeking direction, conviction, or clarity in your walk with Jesus, this episode will encourage you to pause, listen, and allow God to realign your heart through His Word.

Waiting on the Lord | Learning Patience, Trust, and Strength (Psalms 27 & 37)
Wednesday Feb 18, 2026
Wednesday Feb 18, 2026
In this episode, we talk about what it truly means to wait on the Lord — not passively, but faithfully. Drawing from Psalm 27 and Psalm 37, we explore how waiting is a spiritual discipline that strengthens us in both seasons of struggle and seasons of joy.
Waiting builds spiritual muscle. It teaches us patience when answers are delayed, contentment when circumstances don’t change, and trust when God’s promises feel far off. Waiting isn’t wasted time — it’s where God develops endurance, faith, and deep reliance on Him.
Whether you’re in a valley or on the mountaintop, this episode will encourage you to wait with hope, stand firm in God’s truth, and trust that He is working even when you can’t see it.
If you’ve been wrestling with impatience, uncertainty, or discouragement, this conversation will remind you that God is faithful — and His timing is perfect.

From Hopeless to Hopeful | Renewing Your Mind and Growing in Faith (Romans 8)
Wednesday Feb 11, 2026
Wednesday Feb 11, 2026
In this deeply personal episode, I share my story of going from hopeless to hopeful and the powerful way God transforms our lives by first renewing our minds.
Using Romans 8:5–9, we explore how God governs our thoughts and invites us into a life led by the Spirit rather than controlled by the patterns of this world.
Transformation often begins beneath the surface.
First, God cultivates the soil of our mind, creating space for us to go deeper with Him.
Then, seeds are planted — both truth and lies — and we must learn to weed out deception by taking every thought captive and aligning it with God’s Word.
Finally, growth begins… but never in isolation. We were created to grow in community, supporting one another as God strengthens our faith.
If you’ve been battling discouragement, negative thinking, or spiritual dryness, this episode will remind you that hope is possible — and it starts with a renewed mind.
✨ God is still cultivating.
✨ Truth is still taking root.
✨ Growth is still coming.
Listen now and be encouraged: no matter how hopeless things may feel, God is able to transform your mind, your heart, and your future.

The Journey: When the Journey Gets Hard | Perseverance, Faith, and James 1
Wednesday Jan 28, 2026
Wednesday Jan 28, 2026
This episode is a little more real and a little more vulnerable.
Today, I’m walking through this lesson firsthand — when the journey gets tough and perseverance feels heavy. Drawing from James 1, we talk about what it means to endure when faith is tested and life doesn’t feel easy.
Perseverance isn’t something we learn in comfort — it’s formed in the struggle. And in these moments, two things have helped carry me through: heavenly habits and heavenly people. The daily choices that keep my heart anchored in God, and the people He places around me to encourage, pray, and remind me of truth.
If you’re in a hard season right now, this episode is a reminder that you’re not failing — you’re being formed. And God is using even this part of the journey to strengthen your faith.
You don’t have to walk through it alone.

The Journey: Pack Your Bag | Walking free of shame and discovering the person of Jesus
Wednesday Jan 21, 2026
Wednesday Jan 21, 2026
In this episode of The Journey, we turn to Ephesians 4 and 5 and talk about why so many of us feel stuck in our walk with Jesus — even though we deeply desire more of Him.
So often, we’re moving forward on the journey while carrying a backpack full of bricks, and then wondering why the road feels so heavy and slow. Those bricks are Baggage, Bondage, and Beliefs.
• Baggage from our past that we haven’t released
• Bondage we’re still living under instead of surrendering
• Beliefs about Jesus that aren’t rooted in truth
When we keep carrying our old life with us, we aren’t free to fully encounter the living Christ. Ephesians 4 and 5 call us to put off the old self, be renewed in our minds, and walk as children of light.
This episode is an invitation to stop carrying what Jesus never asked you to hold, lay down the bricks that weigh you down, and walk forward in freedom — light, unburdened, and alive in Him.
If you’ve been longing for deeper intimacy with Jesus but feel weighed down, this episode will help you identify what needs to be released so you can move freely on the journey.
